The Lamborghini LMDh Race Car: Unveiling At Goodwood Festival Of Speed
Italian Luxury vehicle manufacturer Lamborghini is set to unveil their latest race car, the Lamborghini LMDh at the Goodwood Festival of Speed that will be hosted from the 13th of July to the 17th of July.
The new Lamborghini LMDh race car will feature a V8 twin turbocharged engine with a hybrid power unit and an Energy Recovery System (ERS). This power unit produces up to 671bhp and can push the car up to 340km/h.
The Lamborghini LMDh's ERS has an electric motor (MGU) that has been developed by Bosch Motorsport, whereas the power management and energy storage systems have been given by Williams Advance Engineering. The 7-speed gearbox is also hybrid and has been manufactured by Xtrac.
Coming to the dimensions, the Lamborghini race car is 2,000mm wide, 5,100mm long, and has a wheelbase of 3,148mm. The total weight of the car is 1030kgs without fuel and the driver present and the engine weighs 180kgs.
Ligier Automotives have carefully planned and designed the Lamborghini LMDh race car's structure and frame whereas HP Composites from Italy have helped to manufacture the carbon fibre aspects of the car.
The Lamborghini race car is going to participate in two highly-respected motorsporting events: the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) and the IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Along with the Lamborghini LMDh race car, Lamborghini will showcase a range of their other makes, such as the Sterrato and Revuelto which will also be doing the Goodwood climb. Apart from this, the Huracan Tecnica, Huracan STO, and Urus Performante will be displayed at the festival's First Glance Paddock.
Thoughts About The Lamborghini LMDh Race Car
The Lamborghini LMDh race car will now be taking part in the the top-tier of Endurance Racing as they have partnered with Ligier Automotive who provided them with a strong but light chassis. The LMDh, having a 671bhp engine, needs to have a tough frame to keep it intact.
