Kia Sonet Facelift: First Teaser Video Out Ahead Of Launch
South Korean carmaker Kia is currently preparing to unveil the much-anticipated facelift of the Sonet compact SUV. Ahead of the official launch scheduled for 14 December 2023 tantalising details about the upcoming SUV have been revealed in the first teaser for the Kia Sonet facelift.
The teaser video which has been posted on the carmaker's Indian social pages reveals an array of changes that the Kia Sonet facelift will bring to our roads when it is launched later this month.

The Sonet facelift shown in the teaser video sports a vibrant red exterior and showcases a redesigned front fascia, complete with a sleeker grille. The LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) have been updated and are accompanied by brand-new LED headlamps.
Other notable exterior features include bumper-mounted LED fog lamps and a silver faux skid plate which adds a rugged touch to the compact Sonet SUV.

Step inside and the upcoming Kia Sonet facelift promises to continue its predecessor's tradition of delivering a rich array of features. The cabin houses a large infotainment screen and a Bose Sound system along with a revised HVAC panel and aircon vents, an auto-dimming Inside Rear View Mirror (IRVM) and what appears to be an all-black interior theme.
Under the bonnet, the upcoming Kia Sonet facelift is expected to maintain the same powertrain options as the current model. These include a 1.2-litre Naturally Aspirated (NA) petrol engine, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.

The 1.2-litre petrol engine offers up 82bhp and 115Nm of peak torque and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine pushes out 118bhp and 172Nm of peak torque and comes paired with either the six-speed iMT or seven-speed DCT gearbox.
The lone diesel offering is the 1.5-litre forced-induction four-cylinder engine that pushes out 114bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. The engine is offered with either an iMT or a torque converter automatic (both six-speed units).
Upon its arrival, the updated Kia Sonet will face stiff competition in the compact SUV segment. Rivals include vehicles like the recently updated Tata Nexon, the new Hyundai Venue, and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, among others.
