Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition Launched At Rs 11.85 Lakh – Upgrades, Features & More
In a bid to attract more customers, Kia has launched the Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition SUV in India at Rs 11.85 lakh, ex-showroom. This special edition variant of the Sonet SUV is based on the HTX trim level and it will be available in 4 exterior colour options.
These colour options include Aurora Black, Gravity Grey, Sparkling Silver, and Glacier White. In addition to this, the newly launched Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition SUV will be available in 4 variants - 1.0 Petrol iMT, 1.0 Petrol DCT, 1.5 Diesel iMT, and 1.5 Diesel AT.
In terms of powertrain, the 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine puts out 118bhp of power and 172Nm of torque, whereas the 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine puts out 114bhp of power and 250Nm of torque.
That being said, the new Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition SUV does not sport any mechanical changes. However, it does sport quite a few visual upgrades that are part of the Aurochs Edition treatment.
Some of the noticeable visual changes include tangerine accents on the front and rear skid plates, centre wheel caps, front grille, door garnish, and skid plates. In addition to this, the new Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition SUV also sports a blacked-out front grille with the Aurochs emblem on it.
On the inside, the new Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition SUV comes with semi-leatherette seats with Silver stitching on the Beige and Black dual-tone seats, Silver finish AC vents, and a leatherette-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel.
In terms of features, the Sonet Aurochs Edition SUV comes with features such as an electric sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, push-button start, 4 airbags, traction modes, height-adjustable driver seat, rear AC vents and more.
Thoughts: The sub-4m SUV segment is one of the most competitive and in-demand SUV segments in India. Since the best-selling models are very closely matched, attracting customers can significantly improve the sales figures for an automaker.
As such, the launch of the Kia Soner Aurochs Edition SUV will help Kia India attract some of the interested buyers in the market. Moreover, the added footfall in the showrooms will also have a positive effect on the overall sales figures as well.
