Kia India Updates Its Line-up With BS6 Phase 2 Powertrains – Check Out All Details
Kia India updates its entire model line-up with new RDE and BS6 Phase 2 compliant engine options ahead of the implementation of new more stringent emission regulations in the country.
In addition to that, the new RDE and BS6 Phase 2 compliant powertrains are also compatible with E20 fuel. Other changes include a revised feature list and new transmission options as well.

Kia Sonet: The Kia new Sonet SUV now comes with RDE and BS6 Phase 2 compliant G1.2, and G1.0T-GDi petrol engines. Furthermore, the D1.5 CRDi WGT diesel engine has been replaced by the D1.5 CRDi VGT engine which also complies with the upcoming emission regulations.
It is also worth mentioning that the diesel engine in the new Kia Sonet now comes with an iMT gearbox as standard across all variants. Other changes include new standard features such as ISOFIX points, an Idle Start-Stop system, and adjustable rear headrests.

Kia Seltos: The new updated Kia Seltos SUV now comes with RDE and BS6 Phase 2 compliant D1.5 CRDi VGT and G1.5 powertrains. However, the G 1.4T-GDi engine has been discontinued and we expect this powertrain to be soon replaced by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
In addition to that, the updated D1.5 CRDi VGT diesel engine now comes mated to an iMT gearbox as standard across all trim levels. Moreover, the Kia Connect skill for Amazon Alexa becomes part of the standard kit from HTX trim and onwards.

Kia Carens: All powertrains in the updated Kia Carens MPV comply with the upcoming RDE and BS6 Phase 2 emission norms. In addition to that, the previous 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol engine has been now replaced by a new 1.5-litre, turbocharged petrol engine.
Other changes include standard fitment of features such as Idle Start-Stop system, Kia Connect skill for Amazon Alexa, 4.2" cluster extension to Premium trim, and leather-wrapped gear knob applicable from Prestige Plus variants.
