Kia India Reports Decline In Domestic Sales – Check Out All Details
Despite being a new car manufacturer in India, Kia quickly gained traction in the Indian automobile market with the launch of the Seltos SUV. Moreover, the South Korean automaker has been enjoying rapid yet steady growth in the country.
Commenting on the sales performance, Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head, Sales and Marketing of Kia India, said, "Kia India is growing faster than the industry, and it has kept our spirit high. We have kept our performance steady with healthy growth, despite the realignment of our manufacturing process".
However, the last sales report of Kia India shows that the South Korean automaker has witnessed a 19 per cent decline in domestic sales. In fact, Kia India managed to sell just 19,391 units of its cars in June 2023.
In comparison, the South Korean automaker managed to sell 24,024 units of its cars in June 2022. Dwelling into figures, June 2022 even witnessed the automaker's highest-ever monthly sales to that date with a 60 per cent YoY sales increase.
However, Kia India expects to bounce back stronger with the launch of the upcoming facelifted version of the Kia Seltos SUV. "With the launch of new Seltos, we aim to be one of the top mid-SUV segment leaders again and hope for a strong sales surge." Brar added.
That being said, Kia India recently revealed the upcoming updated version of the Kia Seltos SUV in India. This model features various exterior and interior updates along with new features.
Speaking about features, the upcoming facelifted version of the Kia Seltos SUV will feature advanced Level-2 ADAS technology. This tech comes equipped with features such as adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and more.
Coming to the powertrain, the 2023 Kia Seltos facelift will come with three engine options - A 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. Moreover, the South Korean automaker is also offering 5 transmission options as well.
