Kia India Crosses 8 Lakh Cumulative Sales In 41 Months – More Than 40 Per Cent YoY Growth

Kia Motors is one of India's fastest-growing car manufacturers and the South Korean automaker recently clocked its best-ever cumulative sales of 3,36,619 units in CY2022.

Diving into details, Kia India registered a growth of 47.7 per cent over CY2021 and the brand's domestic dispatches stood at 2,54,556 units, translating to an astonishing 40.1 per cent YoY growth along with export figures standing at 82,063 units in CY2022.

Thanks to such a strong sales performance, the South Korean automaker achieved 8 Lakh cumulative sales since the start of the sales operation back in August 2019. Apart from that, it is also worth mentioning that Kia India registered 15,184 unit sales in December 2022, resulting in YoY sales growth of 94.7 per cent.

Also, Kia India has marked CY2022 as a milestone year as the brand became the top UV exporter in India by registering its highest export figure of 82,063 units. "CY 2022 has turned out to be the best-ever year for Kia India in more ways than one, fuelled by the unconditional and unflinching love and support from the Indian buyers." Coming to the domestic market, the Seltos SUV continues to be one of the best-selling SUVs in India and the model even crossed the 1 lakh unit sales milestone in just one year. Diving into details, the C-Segment SUV registered sales of 1,01,569 units in CY2022, whereas the Sonet sub-4m SUV reported sales of 86,251 units in the same year.

It is also worth mentioning that the Kia Carens registered a strong 62,756 unit sales in CY2022 and became India's second most-sold family MPV in India. On the other hand, the Kia Carnival, and the all-electric Kia EV6 added 3,550 and 430 units, respectively.

Moreover, Kia India contributed towards building a fast-charging EV infrastructure in India by installing the country's first and the fastest '240kWh' EV charger for promoting green technology. On top of that, Kia India also announced its certified pre-owned (CPO) business to meet the growing demand for personal mobility in India with 30 plus outlets.
