Kia Hikes Prices Up To Rs 1 Lakh – Sonet, Seltos, Carens & More

Kia Motors India has hiked the prices of its passenger cars from January 2023 onwards. With the latest price hike, new Kia cars are up to Rs 1 lakh more expensive than before.

However, it is worth mentioning that the South Korean automaker had notified about this price hike almost a month ago. Apart from that, the latest price hike implemented by Kia Motors ranges between Rs 20,000 and Rs 1 lakh.

Kia Hikes Prices Up To Rs 1 Lakh – Sonet

Diving into details, Kia Motors India hiked the prices of the Sonet sub-4m SUV up to Rs 40,000. That being said, the prices of all 9 diesel variants of the Kia Sonet SUV have been hiked by Rs 40,000. Apart from that, prices for the first three petrol variants have been hiked by Rs 20,000, whereas the prices for the remaining variants of the Sonet SUV have been hiked by Rs 25,000.

This means, the base Kia Sonet HTE petrol variant is now priced at Rs 7.69 lakh (ex-showroom, India), whereas the top-spec Kia Sonet X-Line variant with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is now priced at Rs 13.64 lakh (ex-showroom India). On the other hand, the prices for the diesel variant of the SUV now ranges between Rs 9.45 lakh to Rs 14.39 lakh, ex-showroom.

Kia Hikes Prices Up To Rs 1 Lakh – Seltos,

Coming to Kia Seltos, the top 4 petrol-powered variants receive a price hike of Rs 40,000, whereas the remaining petrol variants of the SUV receive a price hike of Rs 20,000. This means the prices for the petrol-powered Seltos SUV now ranges between Rs 10.69 lakh to Rs 18.69 lakh, ex-showroom.

On the other hand, all variants of the diesel-powered Seltos SUV have been showered with a price hike of Rs 50,000. This means, prices for the diesel-powered Seltos SUV now ranges between Rs 11.89 lakh to Rs 19.15 lakh, ex-showroom, with a maximum price hike percentage of 4.39 per cent.

Kia Hikes Prices Up To Rs 1 Lakh

The price hike trend continues with the Carens MPV as well where all the diesel variants of the MPV receive a price hike of Rs 45,000. As such, prices for the diesel-powered Kia Carens MPV now starts from Rs 12.14 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and goes all the way up to Rs 18.44 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Coming to the petrol variants of the Carens MPV, prices for the models start from Rs 10.19 lakh (ex-showroom, India), with a price hike of Rs 20,000 on the first two variants. Whereas the rest of the petrol-powered variants of the Carens MPV receive a price hike of Rs 25,000 with the top-spec model now costing Rs 17.94 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Kia Hikes Prices Up To Rs 1 L

Finally, the all-electric Kia EV6 model gets a price hike of Rs 1 lakh on all its variants. This means the Kia EV6 GT RWD is now priced at Rs 60.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India), whereas the Kia EV6 GT AWD is now priced at Rs 65.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India).


Thoughts About Kia Motors Price Hike

The latest price hike from Kia Motors could be linked to increased input costs due to upcoming stricter emission norms. Though the price hike may affect the overall sales of Kia Motors India, we expect the South Korean automaker to bounce back stronger in the following months.
