Kia EV6 Limited Edition Teased Ahead Of Monterey Car Week Debut At The Quail
South Korean carmaker Kia has teased the arrival of a limited edition version of the EV6. The limited-run Kia EV6 will debut at the Quail on the 18th of August during Monterey Car Week and will be shown alongside the new EV9 SUV.
The firm's US arm teased the upcoming limited edition on its X (formerly Twitter) page. The teaser showed off the silhouette of the Kia EV6 with a unique green tinge to its bodywork.

Kia revealed more details about the special edition EV6 stating that it would be an exclusive, style-driven version of the vehicle. The 'focused on design' version of the EV6 will be limited to just 1,000 units. The 1,000 designer's choice EV6s will feature unique interior and exterior colourways.
Kia will reveal more details about the limited run, style-focused version of the EV6 at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering, the premier gathering at Monterey Car Week, which kicked off on the 11th of August.

The limited-run EV6 will not be the only Kia on display at the Quail. Kia will be showing off its recently revealed production-spec EV9 flagship SUV at the event in Monterey County, California.
The Kia EV9, which first debuted as a concept vehicle at the 2021 Los Angeles Motor Show, is the new flagship of the Kia lineup. The Kia EV9 is a massive vehicle measuring 5,015mm long, 1,980mm wide, and 1,780mm tall with a 3,100mm long wheelbase.

The massive Kia EV9 electric SUV is offered in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive guises. The rear-wheel-drive version is offered with a single electric motor producing up to 213bhp.
The AWD version ups the output to 376bhp and 600Nm. The torque figure can be further raised to 700Nm with the 'Boost' feature enabled, which propels the over 2.6 tonne SUV from 0-100km/h in just 5.3 seconds.

The Kia EV9 is based on Hyundai and Kia's E-GMP platform for EVs which features an 800V electrical architecture. The 800V architecture means that EV9 can add 200 kilometres of range in just 15 minutes, provided you can find a fast enough DC charger.
The EV9 is offered with two battery packs - 76.1kWh and 99.8kWh. The maximum claimed range on offer with the Kia EV9 electric SUV is 541km as per the WLTP testing cycle.
Thoughts About Kia's Monterey Car Week Appearance
Kia's second visit in a row to The Quail at Monterey Car Week will see it show off two of its EVs. The first will be a style-focused version of the EV6 limited to just 1,000 units. However, what is sure to attract more attention, especially in an SUV-crazed country like the US is the massive EV9.
