Kia Concept EV4 Unveiled - A Future Rival To The Tesla Model 3
South Korean automotive manufacturer Kia has unveiled its latest creation, the Concept EV4 at its EV Day event in its home country.
The Kia concept car previews an all-electric sedan that will compete with the likes of the Tesla Model 3 and Polestar 2 when it arrives in a few years (2025 or 2026).
The EV4 exhibits a distinctive design that borrows some styling cues from two of its siblings currently running about on the streets - the EV9 SUV and EV6 crossover.
The front end of the car showcases a sleek and sharp offset by vertically aligned headlights similar to those of the EV9. It is a feature that sets the Concept EV4 apart from the traditional vehicles of the type that sport headlights that are usually horizontally aligned and come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
The EV4 sports a sharply sloping bonnet along with raked front and rear windscreens while the coupe-esque angle of the roof really adds to the unique look of this sedan concept.
The flared-out wheelarches sport some rather dramatic alloy wheels, while the rear lights, curve into the rear wings, giving the vehicle a unique appearance that's bound to turn heads. Also seen are a bootlip spoiler and another one on the roof, which is rather abnormal for a sedan.
The interior of the EV4 is just as impressive as its exterior. It incorporates sustainable materials, reflecting Kia's commitment to environmental responsibility. Recycled cotton fabrics adorn the seats, while hemp fibres have been used to construct the centre console. This not only gives the cabin an eco-friendly vibe but also provides a sense of luxury and comfort, proving that sustainability and style can indeed go hand in hand.
The dash sports an ovalish-two-spoke steering wheel behind which sit the twin displays for the instrumentation and infotainment. Other unique features of the Concept EV4 include the fact that the controls for the air conditioning are stored inside a hidden compartment on the dashboard and the clean pin-style vents for the AC and the mind modes for the ambient lighting.
Thoughts About The Kia Concept EV4
In a nutshell, the Kia Concept EV4 presents a compelling vision of what Kia's vision of an all-electric sedan of the future looks like. If the production version of the Kia EV4 looks anything like the concept, we wouldn't be surprised if buyers thronged into the Korean firm's showrooms.
