Kia Carens X-Line Launched At Rs 18.94 Lakhs - Two Variants Offered

South Korean carmaker Kia has launched the Carens X-Line in India. Prices for the all-new Kia Carens X-Line start at Rs 18.95 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Kia Carns MPV is only offered in a 6-seater guise for the new X-Line setup.

The Kia Carens X-Line is offered in both petrol and diesel guises with both engine options offered with automatic gearboxes. The Kia Carens X-Line Petrol 7DCT variant is priced at Rs 18,94,900 while the Diesel 6AT model model is priced at Rs 19,44,900 (all prices are ex-showroom).

The Kia Carens X-Line petrol draws power from the firm's 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that puts out 158bhp and 253Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

The Kia Carens X-Line diesel, on the other hand, sports a turbocharged 1.5-litre oil burner that cranks out 113bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. The engine on the Carens X-Line diesel is paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The new Kia Carens X-Line sits atop the Carens MPV lineup in India and sports quite a bit of kit over the previous top-spec Luxury variants. The new Kia Carens X-Line sports a distinct 'Xclusive Matte Graphite' paint job on the outside.

The Carens X-Line also sports chrome radiator garnish, silver painted front brake callipers and 16-inch dual-tone, crystal cut alloy wheels which sport a black outline. The radiator grille, front and rear bumper garnish, door garnish, roof rack, rear skid plate and ORVMs all sport a glossy black look.

The interior too has undergone a change for the X-Line variants of the Carens with the cabin sporting a two-tone Black and Splendid Sage Green theme. Also seen is orange contrast stitching on the seats, armrests, door cards, and steering wheel.

However, the biggest change in the cabin of the Kia Carens X-Line comes in the form of the Rear Seat Entertainment unit which allows for Podcasts, Screen Mirroring, Pinkfong, and a variety of other entertainment and news apps. The rear display can be controlled using a smartphone app.
