Kia Carens Discontinues Moss Brown Shade In India – Now Available In 6 Exterior Colour Options Only
Kia India discontinued the Moss Brown exterior colour option in India. This latest update from Kia has now resulted in reduced exterior shade options for the Carens MPV in the country.
Post the removal of Moss Brown exterior shade, the Kia Carens MPV is now available in just 6 shades. These 6 exterior colour options include Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, and Glacier White Pearl.

Speaking about the Kia Carens, the South Korean MPV quickly gained traction in the Indian automobile market with its aggressive starting price, long feature list, and wide powertrain options.
At present, the Kia Carens MPV is available in seven variants - Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, Luxury (O), Luxury Plus, and X-Line. Out of these variants, the 'Premium' variant is the base version and it is priced at Rs 10.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

On the other hand, the top-of-the-range X-Line variant was recently introduced and prices for this variant of the Kia Carens MPV start at 18.95 lakh (ex-showroom). It is also worth mentioning that this variant of the Carens MPV features sportier design elements.
Coming to the powertrain options, the Kia Carens MPV ditches the 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol engine in favour of a new 1.5-litre, turbocharged petrol engine. This new engine is not only more powerful but also complies with the latest BS6 Phase 2 and RDE emission regulations.
This new powertrain puts out 157.8bhp and 253Nm of torque, which is approximately 20bhp and 11Nm more than the previous 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. While the 7-speed DCT continues to be offered, the 6-speed manual transmission has been replaced by a 6-speed iMT unit.
Other engine options include a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 113bhp and 144Nm of peak torque, and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine with 114bhp and 250Nm of peak torque.
Also, the diesel engine can be specified with either a 6-speed iMT gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission. That being said, the base petrol engine now comes exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission.
In terms of features, Kia is now offering the 12.5-inch digital instrument cluster as standard across all variants. Other features include 10.25-inch infotainment, Apple Car Play and Android Auto, UVO-connected car tech, BOSE sound system, and more.
Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), vehicle stability control (VSC), brake assist systems (BAS), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ISOFIX Mounts, hill-hold assistance, all-wheel disc brakes and a few more.
