Jeep Reveals 7 Concepts For Easter Safari - The Newest Moab Maniacs
American SUV manufacturer Jeep has revealed 7 new concept vehicles that will debut at the 2023 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah later this week.
Moab is a pilgrimage for the Jeep brand and its fans and every year at Easter they head to the famous red rocks to show off the prowess of these mad SUVs. Jeep also uses the Easter Safari event to introduce concept vehicles to its fans.
2023 will see Jeep continue this journey as it will be introducing 7 new SUVs to its fans at this year's Easter Safari - Wrangler Magneto 3.0, 1978 Cherokee 4xe, Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Departure, Gladiator Rubicon Sideburn, Scrambler 392, Grand Wagoneer Overlander and the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe.
The Jeep Wrangler Magneto 3.0 Concept is a look into the future of SUVs and every other car on the planet, ie: it's all-electric.
The Wrangler Magneto 3.0's electric motor has two modes - the basic mode produces 281bhp and 370Nm of peak torque. The more powerful mode pushes the output up to 640bhp and 1,220Nm.
The Magneto 3.0 concept is based on the two-door Wrangler Rubicon and features no doors and a brutishly boxy shape. The Magneto 3.0 sports a 6-speed manual gearbox and rides on 40-inch tyres and extra three inches of lift.
The second of the Jeep concepts headed to Moab is the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Departure Concept. This concept features removable doors and windows along with 17-inch Vintage Bronze KMC Impact OL wheels fitted with 37-inch BFGoodrich tyres and the Bilstein shocks.
The exterior is painted in a stunning Dark Harbor blue scheme which is carried over into the interior on the instrument panel which also features bronze accents.
Third on this list is the Scrambler 392 which is a modern-day tribute to the CJ-8 Scrambler. Painted in a vibrant green shade, the Scrambler 392 started life as a four-door Wrangler Rubicon.
However, Jeep went to town on the donor car and the concept vehicle features quite a few carbon fibre bits along with an AccuAir adjustable air suspension system that can be raised between 1 and 5.5 inches.
The Scrambler 392 rides on 20-inch wheels shod with 40-inch off-road tyres. The engine found under the cut-up bonnet is a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 with 464bhp and 637Nm of torque.
The most colourful of the lot is the 1978 Cherokee 4xe. This resto-mod project was originally found in bad shape with quite a few parts missing. So Jeep's custom department went to town on the old gal and gave her a new roof and quite a few other parts.
Under the custom bodywork with the retro paint job is a plug-in hybrid system featuring a 2.0-litre turbo 4-cylinder and two electric motors. The 1978 Cherokee 4xe concept rides on 17-inch slotted mag wheels shod with 37-inch tyres.
The Gladiator Rubicon Sideburn may have a weird name but like all the other concepts here, the pickup truck features mostly normal bits and the same chassis changes as the Rubicon Departure.
However, this custom truck also sports quite a few crazy bits like a front grille guard that folds down to form a bench, steps on the side and a bonkers Solar Flash yellow paint job. The Sideburn rides on 17-inch HRE wheels shod with 37-inch off-roading tyres.
Next on the list is the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe which features a bright magenta paint job, a new bonnet decal and Jeep's new 7-slot grille. The Bright Magenta SUV rides on 17-inch AEV wheels shod with 37-inch wheels. It also features custom front and rear bumpers from AEV.
The final SUV on this list is the Grand Wagoneer Overland. This a Wagoneer that can do more than ferry the kids to school and it comes equipped with a 503bhp twin-turbo V6 engine and rides on chunky 35-inch off-roading tyres.
However, the biggest change on this Wagoneer comes on the roof where the custom carbon-fibre Skyloft sits. This structure when opened up can allow two people to sleep inside and is climate controlled. The Skyloft can be accessed using the porthole and the rear-most sunroof of the SUV.
