Jeep India has hiked the prices of its Grand Cherokee SUV in India. Thanks to the price hike, the flagship SUV of the American SUV maker now costs Rs 1 lakh more at Rs 78.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
That being said, Jeep launched the Grand Cherokee SUV in India almost 4 months back and the model continues to be imported to India via the CKD route (assembled at Jeep's facility in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra).
Powering the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine with 268.28bhp of peak power and 400Nm of peak torque. Furthermore, the SUV comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with Quadra-Trac 4x4 system with multiple terrain modes.
In terms of features, the SUV comes packed with features such as a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a large 10-inch head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, first-in-segment 10.25-inch co-passenger display, 8-way adjustable front seats, panoramic sunroof and much more.
Furthermore, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV comes with 110 advanced safety and security features and some of the most noticeable ones include 8 airbags, a 360 degree surround view camera, drowsiness detection system, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), electronic stability program (ESP), traction control (TC) and more.
In India, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV competes against the likes of other premium SUVs such as the BMW X5, Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Jaguar F-Pace, Range Rover Velar, and Volvo XC90. Out of all theseSUVs, only the Volvo XC90 and the Audi Q7 come with a 7-seat layout.
