Jeep Compass Facelift Launched In India At Rs 20.49 Lakh; Black Shark Edition Introduced
Jeep India launched the facelifted version of the Jeep Compass SUV at Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Thanks to the updated pricing, the entry-level model of the Jeep Compass is now more affordable by Rs 1 lakh.
On top of that, Jeep India also launched the Black Shark Edition of the Jeep Compass, which is positioned just below the 4X4 variants. That being said, Jeep India continues to offer the Jeep Compass SUV in 5 trim levels - Sport, Longitude, Longitude+, Limited, and Model S.

Speaking about the Black Shark Edition of the Jeep Compass SUV, the special edition model comes with a sporty all-black interior, and black alloy wheels. To make the Jeep Compass Black Shark Edition look more special, the model sports 'Ignite Red' highlights on both the interior and exterior.
Coming to the facelift part, the Jeep Compass now features an updated front grille and alloy wheels. Furthermore, the new chrome grille is now part of Limited and the top-sped Model S trim levels.

Furthermore, the automatic gearbox was previously exclusive to the variants equipped with the 4X4 drivetrain. The new facelifted version of the Jeep Compass SUV now adds an automatic gearbox to the two-wheel-drive variants as well.
Coming to the powertrain, the Jeep Compass SUV continues to use the same tried-and-tested 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine. This engine in the facelifted version of the Jeep Compass SUV is tuned to produce 168.5bhp and 350Nm of peak torque.

It is also worth mentioning that the automaker recently discontinued the 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol engine in the Jeep Compass SUV range. This decision to shelve the turbo petrol engine was made after the introduction of more stringent BS6 Phase 2 emission norms.
Thoughts: The Jeep Compass SUV is a consistent seller for the US automaker in India. With the launch of the Jeep Compass facelift with a lower price tag, we expect the automaker to attract more customers this festive season.
As a result, we expect the Jeep Compass facelift model to have improved sales figures in the coming months. Also, the new Black Shark variant is expected to further interest a new set of buyers.
