Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition: Big British Cat's Last Petrol-Powered Sportscar

As the automotive world pivots towards an electrified future, Jaguar, is bidding farewell to its petrol-powered sports car legacy with the F-Type ZP Edition, its final petrol-powered sports car.

Jaguar's shift to becoming an all-electric luxury brand by 2025 necessitates the end of the F-Type production next year. However, the British firm plans to bid its last petrol-powered sports car a grand adieu with the limited-run, V8-powered F-Type ZP Edition.

The F-Type ZP edition will be a rare breed with only 150 units set to leave the factory, and the sports car will be offered in both coupe and cabriolet guises. It joins the ranks of other heritage-inspired collector's editions including the 2015 Project 7 and 2020 Heritage 60 Edition.

Visually, the ZP Edition sets itself apart from the standard F-Type. It will be available in two exclusive paint finishes - Oulton Blue and Crystal Grey. The Oulton Blue variant features a red and ebony two-tone leather interior, while the Crystal Grey variant comes with navy blue and ebony leather.

These colours match the two specially formulated paints created for seven pairs of E-type Project ZP Collection cars announced by Jaguar Classic earlier this year and recall the first race-winning 'Project ZP' E-Types that were seen after the iconic model's launch back in 1961.

Adding to its distinctive charm are the Porcelain White Gloss hand-painted racing-style roundels on the doors and white grille surrounds. Gloss black exterior accents, brake calipers, and 20-inch forged alloy wheels complete the look. Each car will also feature special 'ZP Edition' branding behind the front wheels and a 'one of 150' plaque.

Under the bonnet, the ZP Edition sits a howling beast. Powered by Jag's supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, the F-Type ZP Edition boasts an impressive 567bhp and 700Nm. Based on the F-Type R, the ZP Edition can sprint from 0-60mph (96.5km/h) in just 3.5 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 300km/h
