India’s First Formula E Race – Hyderabad E-Prix
On February 11, the city of Hyderabad in Telangana will host India's first Formula E race and here's everything you need to know about it.
Starting with the circuit, if you think the city of Hyderabad does not have a racing circuit, we would say it is time to update your knowledge as the South Indian city is now home to the country's first official street circuit.

Diving into the details, this new street circuit in Hyderabad is located alongside the Hussain Sagar Lake and the layout of the street circuit was recently updated with a total of 17 turns and the total distance now measures 2.83 kilometres.
In comparison, the older layout of the street circuit only had 12 turns (now 17 turns) and measured just 2.37 kilometres long. It is also worth mentioning that the street circuit in Hyderabad was recently used to host the 2022 Indian Racing league season opener.
Coming back to India's Forst Formula E race, tickets for the event can be purchased through BookMyShow and these tickets are divided into four categories. The Grandstands is priced at Rs 1,000, Charged Grandstands comes at Rs 3,500, whereas the Premium Grandstands is priced at Rs 6,000 and the Ace Grandstands is priced at Rs 10,000.
It is also worth mentioning that the 2023 Formula E season will also witness the debut of Gen3 race cars, these new electric race cars are the most powerful and fastest Formula E race cars to date with 476bhp of power and a top speed of around 320km/h. Additionally, the chassis also features many changes to make racing a lot more interesting.
Moreover, the award-winning sports venue architect company Driven International had also worked on the Hyderabad street circuit. Also, this company recently updated the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, and the firm is said to currently working on Marque One Motor Club in Andhra Pradesh and Nanoli Speedway near Pune in Maharashtra.
Thoughts About India's First Formula E Race At The Country's First Street Circuit
The success rate of India's first street circuit could be the key to popularising racing in the country and it could also pave the way to create more street circuits in Indian cities. That being said, the upcoming Formula E racing could be a treat for the audience with ex-Formual 1 drivers such as Stoffel Vandoorne and Sebastien Buemi will also be racing to take the top step of the podium.
