641bhp Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Revealed At Goodwood Festival of Speed
South Korean carmaker Hyundai has revealed the all-new Ioniq 5 N. The Ioniq 5 N made its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which kicked off earlier today.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the first all-electric performance car from the Korean marque and is also the most powerful version of Hyundai's crossover EV to hit the streets. The Ioniq 5 N will first launch in Korea in September.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is powered by a dual-motor electric motor setup that revs up to 21,000rpm that pushes out 601bhp in its regular guise. However, with its N Grin Boost mode engaged, the power levels are upped to 641bhp.
With N Grin Boost and N Launch Control engaged the Ioniq 5 N sprints from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds. The top speed of the Ioniq 5 N is 260km/h. The N Grin Boost mode can be engaged for just 10 seconds at a time.

The range of the all-new Ioniq 5 N's has not yet been revealed. Hyundai claims that the electric performance crossover can do two laps of the Nurburgring Nordschleife without a loss of power.
However, Hyundai has revealed that the new Ioniq 5 N's 84kWh battery pack will support DC fast charging with speeds of up to 350kW. At its maximum charging speed engaged, the Ioniq 5 N's battery pack will go from 10 to 80 per cent charge in just 18 minutes.

Another party trick up the Ioniq 5 N's sleeve is what Hyundai calls the N e-shift, which mimics a high-powered petrol-engined car with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
When combined with the car's N Active Sound+ feature (10 speakers - eight inside, two outside), the Ioniq 5 simulates gear changes by limiting the dual-motor system's torque output to make it feel like the car is shifting through the gears.

The Ioniq 5 N is also 80mm longer and 50mm wider than the regular Ioniq 5 that we see here in India. The new Ioniq 5 N measures 4,715mm long, 1,940mm wide and 1,585mm tall. The wheelbase remains the same at 3,000mm.
Other than the more aggressive bodywork, the Ioniq 5 N also rides on larger 21-inch wheels. These snazzy alloy wheels are shod with Pirelli P-Zero 275/35 R21 tyres.
Behind the wheels sit massive brakes - 400mm with 4-piston callipers (front) and 360mm single-piston callipers (rear) - that can provide 0.6Gs of deceleration when the regenerative brakes are engaged.
Thoughts About The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the unhinged version of Hyundai's flagship EV model here in India, and it brings a big boost in power along with an array of aids that help the driver feel more engaged when behind the wheel.
