Hyundai Exter To Come With Dashcam, 6 Airbags & More – Safety Prioritised
Hyundai has revealed that its upcoming Exter SUV will come with 6 airbags as standard across all variants along with 25 other safety features. On top of that, Hyundai India has given the option to add additional safety features in the lower-spec variants as well.
What's even more interesting is that the Hyundai Exter will come with a dual-camera dashcam to provide valuable evidence in case of accidents. This is a first-in-segment feature, and we expect more automakers to adopt the addition of this feature in their future products.
Some of the standout safety features in the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), hill-start assist, ABS, EBD, ISOFIX anchoring points, 3-point seat belts with reminder (all seats), ESS, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), reverse parking sensors and more.
At present, Hyundai Motors have already opened bookings for its Hyundai Exter SUV in India and the booking amount for the upcoming small SUV has been capped at Rs 11,000.
According to Hyundai, the Exter SUV will be made available in 5 trim levels, and it will also be available in both petrol and CNG (bi-fuel) variants. Moreover, the company is yet to disclose the pricing details to the public.
That being said, Hyundai India confirmed that the upcoming Exter SUV will sport a 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine that powers the current lineup of products such as the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Aura, and more.
This 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine is tuned to produce 82bhp of power and 113.8Nm of torque in the above-listed vehicles. Moreover, gearbox options are likely to include a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Speaking about the powertrain, this powertrain has been recently updated to comply with the latest BS6 Phase 2 emission norms and it is also designed to run on the newer E20 fuel (20 per cent Ethanol, and 80 per cent petrol).
