Hyundai Creta EV: The Game-Changer In India's EV Market

Hyundai’s Creta has not only carved out a niche for itself but has also emerged as a top seller, earning the fondness of Indian consumers. Amidst its roaring success, Hyundai is stirring the market with the anticipation of the Creta EV.

The buzz around town is that Hyundai is gearing up to electrify the Indian roads with the Creta in its eco-friendly avatar. Although the official launch dates are under wraps, industry insiders project the debut of this electric dynamo by late 2024 or early 2025.

Hyundai Creta EV: Electrifying Indias Roads

The groundwork for the Creta EV is laid on the latest ICE Facelift Creta, scheduled to make an appearance on January 16, 2023, setting the stage for its electric successor. Leaked whispers suggest that the upcoming Creta EV will come equipped with a 45kWh battery pack.

This positions the Hyundai Creta EV in direct competition with other electric SUV contenders such as the MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti EVX electric SUV, boasting their 50.3 kWh and 48 kWh battery packs, respectively.

When it comes to the heart of the machine, the Creta EV is expected to share the electric motor found in Hyundai’s Kona EV. This motor delivers a robust 138bhp and an impressive torque of 255Nm, which is sure to offer a spirited driving experience to electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts.

The anticipated range for the Creta EV, on a full charge, spans between 350 to 400 kilometres. This significant mileage places it as a strong rival to India’s current EV favourite, the Tata Nexon SUV.

While Hyundai has had its share of success with the premium Kona EV and Ioniq EV, the introduction of the Creta EV is anticipated to democratize EV ownership, striking a chord with those aiming for environmental consciousness without compromising on the distinctive taste and sophistication.

As we witness the unwavering growth of the electric vehicle landscape in India, Hyundai's strategic foray with the Creta EV underscores a pivotal shift in consumer preferences towards greener mobility solutions.
