Nestled under the emblem of the Nissan GT R is a hand-built power hub that exudes matchless prowess on the road or the track. The vehicle is produced, in both its upgraded and regular formats, at Nissan's Tochigi Plant with stringent precision. For the 2024 model, for instance, notable enhancements in bodywork aimed at augmenting aerodynamic efficiency have been implemented.
Both the external and internal elements of the GT R are meticulously installed with fender covers being used protectively during the process. The aluminum die-cast engine block is equipped with a forged steel crankshaft, complimented by aluminum pistons.
The meticulously engineered engine department also uses hydraulic torque wrenches to certify that all bolts adhere to a specified force level. Furthermore, to inspect the crevices between various components, feeler gauges are deployed.

In order to ascertain the power and torque outcomes at diverse speeds, a dynamometric test is conducted. The latest, U.S. spec Nissan GT R is fortified with a 3.8 liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine offering a mind-boggling 565 horsepower and a torque of 467 lb-ft. The enhanced version in the GT R Nismo range manufactures an additional 35 horsepower and 14 lb-ft of torque.
Following the installation of most components, the unit enters a state of post-production wheel alignment test. The procedure aids in curtailing undue wear-and-tear on crucial components such as the suspension system.

Aside from churning out the acclaimed 2024 Nissan GT R battalion, Nissan's Tochigi Plant has been breathing life into another beast, the GT R50. The GT R50 is a creation of a collaborative effort with ItalDesign, bred in commemoration of the 50th anniversaries of both the GT R and the Italian design firm.
The plant employees take utmost pride in manually crafting the GT R50 while utilizing diverse tools like chisels and hammers. Given the emphasis on maximizing airflow, even the C-pillar of a Nismo provided for GT R50 transformation gets replaced with inventive panels.
For the sake of achieving geometric accuracy and aligning elements precisely, technologies such as 3D scanners, CMMs, and laser projectors, in conjunction with CAD and laser projection are incorporated in the manufacturing process. The in-house Eckold machine champions the shaping endeavors of the body panels, while 3D printing hastens part production.
Under the hood, the GT R50 boasts a handmade 3.8 liter twin-turbo V6, which unleashes an impressive 720 horsepower paired with a torque of 575 lb-ft. Despite the hefty price tag of $1.1 million, Nissan seeks to create only 50 examples of the supreme GT R50. As for the standard GT R, the starting price in the U.S. is $120,990.
