Glaring Omissions On The Japanese-Spec Honda Elevate SUV – Shocking Details Emerge
The C-segment SUV category is one of the most competitive car segments in the Indian automobile market. For a very long time, this category has been dominated by the South Korean SUV duo comprising Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
Though the European automakers did manage to bring some excitement into the segment with the launch of the Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq, both these SUVs failed to match the sheer sales figures achieved by the Korean duo.

That being said, with dwindling sales figures and reduced popularity of sedans, Honda should have entered this segment way earlier. However, fate had other plans, and it is better to be late than never.
So, Honda has finally made its entry into the highly competitive C-segment SUV category with the launch of the Honda Elevate SUV. Like most Honda cars, the Elevate is also a no-nonsense product that really focuses on basic everyday things.

As such, the Honda Elevate has clicked very well in the Indian market. Following the success of Honda Elevate in India, the Japanese automaker has introduced this model in its home market as the new 'WR-V'.
That being said, the Japanese-spec Honda Elevate SUV (Honda WR-V) seems to be slightly less equipped than its Indian counterpart. In fact, looking at the equipment list of the Japanese-spec Elevate SUV, there seems to be some glaring omissions in the equipment list.

Starting with the exterior, the India-spec Elevate is offered in 10 shades. Out of these exterior colour options, 3 shades come with black roof. On the other hand, the Japanese-spec model is offered in just 5 shades and none of them come with a black roof.
Stepping inside, the first difference between the Indian-spec model and the Japanese-spec model is the colour scheme. While the Indian-spec Elevate SUV gets a more premium-looking Black-Tan colour scheme, the Japanese-spec model gets a sport all-black theme.

Keen-eyed automobile enthusiasts will also notice that the infotainment unit in the Japanese-spec Elevate SUV comes equipped with a different infotainment unit to the one in the Indian-spec Elevate SUV. Furthermore, the Japanese-spec model also misses out on features such as a wireless charger and an electric sunroof.
That being said, both specs are powered by the same 1.5-litre, DOHC, 4-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is tuned to produce 119.4bhp at 6,600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4,300rpm. Furthermore, the model comes with a choice of either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT.

Thoughts About The Indian-Spec & Japanese-Spec Elevate SUV
Analysing both the Indian-spec and Japanese-spec Honda Elevate SUVs, we can confirm that the Indian-spec model not only comes with more features, but the interior also feels more premium with its Black/Tan colour combination.
