Hindustan Ambassador With Modifications Worth Rs 8 Lakhs – Total Eye Candy
When you talk about enthusiast cars, the Hindustan Ambassador may not even make it to the list. However, this car has quite a strong fan base and we can see plenty of beautifully restore examples on the road.
Furthermore, many believe that the Hindustan Ambassador is a good base car for customisations. That being said, here is a 42-year-old Hindustan Ambassador with Rs 8 lakh worth of modifications and it is among the cleanest we have seen.
Starting with the obvious, the video of the modified Mark 4 Hindustan Ambassador in question was uploaded to the internet by Kamcustoms (Customisation house based in Mangalore, Karnataka. ) on their YouTube channel.
Coming to the modifications, the Kamcustoms have gone for a neo-retro look with this Mark 4 Hindustan Ambassador. As such, the customisation house has replaced a few parts including door handles, fuel filler cap and front grille with the later models.
To make the car look more modern, Kamcustoms have replaced all the halogen lighting systems with LED units. Other noticeable modifications on the outside include fog lamps, door-mounted electrical ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, 5-spoke alloy wheels, custom LED taillamps, a custom paint job, and more.
Stepping inside, the interior of this particular model has been completely reworked. For starters, this Hindustan Ambassador no longer can seat a whole family, instead, it can only seat 4 adults. This is because the front and rear bench seats have been replaced with 4 captain seats.
It is also worth mentioning that the front seats are now electrically adjustable and the entire dashboard and the centre console seem to have been custom-made. To make the car look more contemporary, the steering wheel seems to have been borrowed from the last facelifted version of the Mahindra Scorpio.
Other interesting details include the custom-made Hindustan Motors logo on the steering wheel, AC vents sourced from an older-generation Mahindra Thar SUV, leather-wrapped interior, powered windows that seem to be sourced from older Ford models, push-button start/stop system, aftermarket gear lever, and more.
It is also worth mentioning that the modified Hindustan Ambassador uses a touchscreen pioneer audio system. Furthermore, to enhance comfort for rear seat passengers, Kamcustoms have also added rear AC vents and headrest pillows as well.
At the rear, the boot has been neatly lined with felt, and the boot also houses the massive Pioneer subwoofer as well. To improve convenience, the boot lid is suspended on two gas-charged struts.

The Hindustan Ambassador is an iconic car in India. Though the model was discontinued in 2014, there are many people who still cherish the model and keep it in pristine condition. This modified Ambassador by Kamcustoms is one such fine example.
