Hardik Pandya Signed As Brand Ambassador For Hyundai Exter SUV – HMIL Targeting Gen Z Buyers
Ahead of the launch of the Hyundai Exter SUV in India, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) announced cricket icon Hardik Pandya as the brand ambassador for the Exter SUV. By roping in Hardik Pandya, HMIL plans to attract more Gen Z customers.
"To epitomize this symbolic image of Hyundai EXTER, we could think of none other than Hardik Pandya, who has emerged as one of India's brightest stars in the recent history of the sport of cricket." Said Mr Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India Ltd.
Speaking about the Hyundai Exter, the upcoming SUV will sit below the Hyundai Venue SUV and directly compete against the Tata Punch SUV. Apart from that, HMIL has already commenced the bookings for the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV and the booking amount has been capped at Rs 11,000.
The Hyundai Exter SUV will be available in 5 trim levels - EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect. Furthermore, the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV will also be available with a CNG-compatible powertrain, which we expect to further boost the sales figures.
The upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV will be powered by a 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine. This is the same engine that powers other Hyundai models such as the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Hyundai Aura, Hyundai i20 and more.
This 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine is expected to put out 82bhp and 113.8Nm of torque. Moreover, gearbox options include a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT gearbox. It is also worth mentioning that this powertrain will comply with the BS6 Phase 2 emission norms and E20 fuel.
Some of the highlighting features of the Hyundai Exter SUV include an electric sunroof, an in-built dashcam with full-HD recording, multiple drive modes, smartphone connectivity, connected car tech, 25 standard safety features and more.
When launched, we expect HMIL to price the Hyundai Exter with a starting price tag of just below Rs 6 lakh. This will ensure the upcoming micro-SUV undercuts its main competitors and this is likely to attract more customers.
