Meet the Tiny Giant of Urban Transportation: Fiat Topolino
Fiat, the Italian automotive giant, has initiated the reservation process for Fiat Topolino, the smallest electric vehicle (EV) in its portfolio. Unveiled earlier this year, the Topolino is designed to be the perfect personal commute option, specifically catering to the densely populated and congested city regions of Italy. The micro EV is already in high demand, leading to a delivery timeline of around 19 weeks due to the influx of orders.
The Fiat Topolino is built on the Citroen Ami platform and features an astonishingly compact design, measuring only 2.53 meters in length with a top speed of 45 kmph. Intent on prioritizing practicality over flamboyance and speed, this quadricycle-class EV has managed to secure a spot as Fiat's second EV after the Fiat 500e. The Topolino also has an edge over similar vehicles due to its ability to be driven by individuals as young as 14 without a driving license, lending it a unique appeal among younger demography.

Topolino houses a 5.5 kWh lithium-ion battery that boasts a 75 km range per charge. The electric vehicle sports a chic Vita Green shade with a quaint retro wheel design. Prospective owners will have a choice between a retractable canvas roof or a closed glass roof, with additional options for versions with or without doors. Fiat is also offering several optional accessories to enhance the driving experience, including chrome-effect mirrors, a USB fan, Bluetooth speaker, and seat covers.
Fiat cemented Topolino's affordability by pricing it around Rs. 6.70 lakh ($8,065) and providing flexible payment options. Potential customers can make a down payment of approximately 2,582 Euros and opt for a 48-month installment plan of 39 Euros (around Rs. 3,500) per month. However, this minuscule EV has aspirations beyond Italy's borders, with plans to launch in France and Germany by the end of 2023.

DriveSpark Thinks
The Fiat Topolino is not simply an EV, but a revolutionary product that can very well shape the future of driving. The brand has given considerable thought into this design, bringing together the perfect blend of their traditional engineering skills and integrating the latest clean energy technologies. Fiat has meticulously formulated new procedures and ensured the highest standard safety measures to build the Topolino, keeping the eco-friendly nature and sustainability as the key priority.
