1 of 1 Ferrari KC23 Is A Shape-Changing Track Maniac
Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari has revealed the bespoke KC23. The Ferrari KC23 is a one-off track special based on the 488 GT3 race car in its Evo 2020 guise.
The Ferrari 488 GT3 has been racing since 2016 and is the most successful prancing horse-badged race car of all time. The 488 GT3 has racked up 530 victories winning 119 championships along the way.

The Ferrari KC23 was revealed at the firm's headquarters in Maranello before being shown to the public for the first time at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which kicked off yesterday.
The Ferrari KC23 like other one-off vehicles from the Ferrari Special Projects program was made to specification for a valuable customer of the firm. The KC23 took three years to develop.

After its public debut on the Earl of Richmond's manor house grounds, the KC23 will be put on display at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello from August 1st to the 2nd of October.
The Ferrari KC23 features bespoke bodywork and looks like it has been sculpted out of a single piece of metal. The design also hides some of the KC23's functional elements that open up automatically when the twin-turbo V8 fires up.

Other shape-shifting skills of the Ferrari KC23 are showcased depending on which use the owner has for it. In static form, the Ferrari KC23 sports a staggered setup with 21-inch wheels at the front and 22-inch units at the rear.
On the track, the one-off KC23 rides around on 18-inch wheels that come shod with racing tyres. It is also in track configuration that the KC23 sports the fixed rear wing.

Other design highlights of the Ferrari KC23 include the butterfly doors, sleek headlights and blade-like taillights inspired by the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo virtual car. The rear clamshell not only looks brilliant but is also easy to remove for inspection and maintenance work, requiring the removal of just two pins.
The metallic-finished glass sections of the Ferrari KC23 also highlight the bespoke track-only car's futuristic design. The glass sections integrate seamlessly with the bodywork, with no visible pillars, frames or seals, creating an aeronautics-derived dome effect.

The Ferrari KC23 also features a brilliant Gold Mercury livery, courtesy of a specially-developed, four-layer aluminium paint. The liquid metal makes the paint gleam in the sunlight and the actual colour of the KC23 changes constantly depending on the type and angle of the light striking it.
The cabin is almost identical to the 488 GT3 Evo 2020 race car though the KC23 does feature door panels and dashboard trim on the passenger side as well as seats that are specific to the car.

The Ferrari KC23's powerplant is Ferrari's 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 from the 488 GT3 Evo 2020 race car. In the 488 GT3 Evo 2020, the engine is limited to 592bhp and 700Nm due to the balance of performance rules.
Ferrari has not revealed the engine's output for the unhinged KC23 which is free of homologation constraints.
