Exclusive: Tata Safari Facelift Spotted Testing In Bangalore – Likely To Get Petrol Engine & ADAS
The upcoming Tata Safari facelift SUV was recently spotted testing in Bangalore. The images of the heavily camouflaged version of the Tata Safari test mule were shared by a DriveSpark reader.
Analysing the images, it becomes evident that the upcoming facelifted version of the Tata Safari SUV is likely to feature plenty of design changes including different-looking vertically stacked headlights, a reprofiled front bumper, a more upright front section, updated rear bumpers and more.
On top of that, we also expect the upcoming Tata Safari facelift to come with new features along with a redesigned dashboard and other interior design elements to make the SUV look more premium and contemporary.
It is also worth mentioning that the side profile of the test mule of the Tata Safari facelift spotted in Bangalore remains largely identical to the outgoing iteration of the SUV.
A closer look at the test mule reveals that the vehicle is equipped with a new sensor that sits just behind the windshield and the IRVM. We expect this new sensor to be part of the ADAS tech in the upcoming Tata Safari facelift.
In addition to that, we expect the ADAS tech in the upcoming facelifted version of the Tata Safari SUV to be a lot more sophisticated than the one in the Tata Safari Red Dark Edition with additional features such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and pilot-assist.
Coming to the powertrain, the upcoming Tata Safari facelift could feature a new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine with 168bhp of peak power and 280Nm of peak torque. This is the same 1.5L Turbo Petrol engine that was showcased by the automaker at the Auto Expo 2023.
While the diesel engine is likely to be the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged unit, we expect the power and torque figures to jump by a slight margin. This engine in the outgoing version of the Safari SUV puts out 168bhp of peak power and 350Nm of peak torque.
Thoughts About The Tata Safari Facelift
The facelifted version of the Tata Safari SUV will help the automaker better compete against its more sophisticated rivals such as the MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV700. Also, this will help the automaker attract more customers and improve overall sales figures.
