Car Models That Said Goodbye in 2023: Unveiling the Reasons
In 2023, the Indian car scene had its highs and goodbyes. October and November set sales records, but not all models made it to the celebration. Let's dive into the farewell stories.
Maruti Suzuki said goodbye to the Alto 800 in April 2023. Known for mileage and low upkeep, it left due to new safety and emission rules. The Alto K10 stepped up to fill its shoes.

Honda waved farewell to three models: Honda City diesel, 4th gen City, and Amaze diesel. The 4th gen City made way for the fifth gen, while Amaze diesel faced emission challenges.
Hyundai bid adieu to i20 diesel and Verna diesel due to strict emission norms. Tata Ultra now stands as the lone diesel in hatchbacks.

Toyota's Innova Crysta Petrol made an exit for the Innova Hycross. Available in hybrid and non-hybrid, the Hicross aligns with emission rules.
Skoda withdrew Octavia and Superb due to pollution norms but hints at a possible return in 2024. Even the Renault Kwid 800 left due to new emission rules, showcasing the industry's shift to stricter standards.

On top of the Skoda and Renault, Nissan Kicks bowed out, unable to keep up with competitors like Creta and Seltos. Also, Honda's WR-V left, replaced by the Jazz. Speculations hint at comebacks in updated versions.
DriveSpark Thinks
