Citroën India Launches UBI Program in Partnership with ICICI Lombard General Insurance: Encourages Safe Driving Practices
Citroën India has partnered with ICICI Lombard General Insurance to introduce a revolutionary Usage Based Insurance (UBI) program for customers purchasing the popular ËC3. This initiative aims to encourage safe driving practices and provide potential savings on insurance premiums.
By implementing this innovative policy, Citroën is demonstrating its dedication to promoting road safety in India.UBI is linked to both vehicle usage and driver behaviour throughout the insurance term. The renewal premium is calculated based on driving scores evaluated by the insurance company.

With customer consent, real-time data on vehicle dynamics and driving habits are collected and used for scoring purposes to determine the premium. Customers can opt for UBI either at the time of purchasing their vehicle from a Citroën dealership or later through the 'Citroën My Connect App'.
Initially available for ËC3 owners, UBI will also be offered in upcoming connected car models. Some benefits of UBI include potential savings on insurance renewal premiums for drivers with high scores, promotion of safe driving practices leading to reduced road accidents, and access to periodic driving scores with tips for improving driving behaviours.

Saurabh Vatsa, Brand Head of Citroën India, expressed his delight in partnering with ICICI Lombard, emphasizing their commitment to customer safety and providing an opportunity for customers to save on insurance premiums through responsible driving. He highlighted that this unique policy revolutionizes how insurance is perceived in India while empowering responsible drivers.
Sanjeev Mantri, Executive Director of ICICI Lombard General Insurance, commented on their shared vision with Citroën India in leveraging technology to create innovative solutions. He mentioned their telematics products such as Pay As You Drive and Pay How You Use as examples of cutting-edge innovations.

The introduction of the groundbreaking UBI model disrupts traditional insurance paradigms while rewarding good driving behaviour and contributing towards enhancing road safety in India. The UBI program will be available for ËC3 customers starting from August 2023.
