Citroen C3 ‘Shine’ Turbo Launched At Rs 8.80 Lakh – 13 New Features & More
Citroen India launched the top-spec 'Shine' variant of the Citroen C3 Turbo at Rs 8.80 lakh (ex-showroom, India). In addition to that, the top-spec 'Shine' variant now comes with 13 new features as well.
The added features include an electrically adjustable ORVM, rear parking camera, day/night IRVM, 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, front fog lamps, rear skid plates, rear washer & wiper, rear defogger, and 35 smart connectivity features.
In addition to the added features, the newly launched 'Shine' variant of the Citroen C3 Turbo comes with new safety systems such as an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill-Hold, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Engine Auto Start/Stop.
According to Citroen, the Citroen C3 Turbo Shine variant is powered by a 1.2-litre, Gen III Puretech 110 Turbo engine. This engine puts out 108.4bhp of peak power and 190Nm of peak torque.
That being said, the newly launched 'Shine' variant of the Citroen C3 Turbo model continues to come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. However, it is reported that Citroen is developing a new 6-speed torque converter gearbox for the Citroen C3.
At present, the Citroen C3 Turbo range starts with the 'Feel' trim level, and this variant of the French hatchback is priced at Rs 8.28 lakh (ex-showroom, India), whereas the 'Shine' trim level with the VIBE Pack costs Rs 8.92 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Thoughts: Though Citroen has added quite a few features to the top-spec Citroen C3 Turbo, the model still lacks quite a few features including a tachometer, a push button start/stop system, and most importantly an automatic climate control system.
In addition to that, the lack of an automatic gearbox will affect the model from achieving its full sales potential. That being said, the Turbo models are quite punchy and can be seen as a preferred choice for enthusiasts without breaking the budget.
