All-New Citroen C3 Aircross Revealed - The New French Creta Rival Is Here
Citroen C3 Aircross Unveiled. The newly unveiled Citroen C3 Aircross which is based on the C3 hatchback is offered in both 5-seater and 5+2-seater configurations.
The all-new C3 Aircross SUV from French carmaker Citroen will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Kia Seltos among others in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.
The brand new Citroen C3 Aircross SUV is powered by the turbocharged 1.2-litre engine that first debuted in the C3 hatchback. Under the bonnet of the all-new Citroen C3 Aircross, the engine produces 108bhp and 190Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Citroen C3 Aircross is quite a bit longer than the hatchback it is based on. The all-new C3 Aircross measures 4.3 meters long and sports a 2,671mm long wheelbase. The C3 Aircross SUV is also quite suited for India as it offers 200mm of ground clearance.
In terms of its looks, the Citroen C3 Aircross twins well with its hatchback sibling, which isn't much of a surprise considering that it is based on the C3 hatchback.
At the front, the X-shaped DRLs (when put next to each other) are connected to the Citroen badge at the centre by twin strips of chrome. The actual headlights sit further towards the edges of the SUV's front end.
The new C3 Aircross also sports a substantially larger grille compared to the hatchback it is based on which is split by a section of the rear bumper that houses the front number plate. Under this, we find the circular fog lamps and the faux bash plate finished in silver.
The sides are quite similar to the C3 though the raised ground clearance of the new Aircross is best viewed here. Also seen are some beefed-up wheelarches that play host to some snazzy 17-inch alloy wheels.
Other exterior design highlights include the blacked-out roof and pillars, and the C-shaped taillights connected to the Citroen badge at the centre. Also seen at the rear is a chunky silver coloured faux bash plate.
Step inside the Citroen C3 Aircross and you're greeted by a widescreen 10.2-inch infotainment screen in the centre of the dashboard that offers wireless mirroring as well as support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also present is a 7-inch driver's display.
The C3 Aircross from Citroen is offered in both 5-seater and 5+2-seater options. In its 5-seater guise, the C3 Aircross SUV offers 511 litres of boot space. In the 5+2 seater guise, the middle bench of the C3 Aircross offers a 70:30 split with rear seats that look best suited for children.
Citroen hasn't revealed any details about when the C3 Aircross will be launched but we expect a price announcement for the SUV to happen in the second half of the year. However, the French carmaker revealed that another vehicle based on the C3 would be launched in India in 2024.
Thoughts About The Citroen C3 Aircross
The Citroen C3 Aircross is the French carmaker's answer to the Hyundai Creta. If Citroen gets aggressive with the pricing, it should have a rather nice contender on its hands that will surely boost its sales numbers in the country.
