Citroen C3 Aircross SUV Launched In India At Rs 9.99 Lakh – Available In Three Variants
Citroen India launched the much-awaited Citroen C3 Aircross SUV at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This newly launched French SUV is available in three trim levels and competes in the C-segment SUV category.
This segment is very lucrative for an automaker but it is equally difficult to crack the segment, thanks to tough competition. In fact, some of the most successful models in the segment include Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
Speaking about the Citroen C3 Aircross, the SUV is the only model in its segment to offer a 7-seat configuration. However, this configuration is optional, and it is only available with the top two trim levels - Plus, and Max.
As such, the base 'You' trim level of the new Citroen C3 Aircross SUV is exclusively available with the 5-seat layout. Additionally, the model misses out on some attractive features such as a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment, reversing camera, rear wiper, rear defogger, USB charging points, and roof-mounted AC vents.
Though the feature list of the You trim level may look spartan, it does come with a long list of safety features. These safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear sensors, and more.
That being said, Citroen India is yet to reveal the prices for the higher trim levels of the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV. However, bookings for all variants of the model is currently open and the token amount is capped at Rs 25,000.
It is also worth mentioning that the 7-seater configuration demands a premium of Rs 35,000 over the standard 5-seater configuration. Also, the dual-tone paint and vibe pack are exclusive for the Plus and Max trims, and are priced at Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000, respectively.
Coming to the powertrain, the new Citroen C3 Aircross SUV is powered by a 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine with 108bhp and 190Nm of torque. Furthermore, this engine comes exclusively mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
That being said, we expect the top-spec trim of the new Citroen C3 Aircross to be priced under Rs 12.50 lakh. Moreover, this configuration is likely to be the best-selling variant of the model.
Thoughts: At Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Citroen C3 Aircross is very attractively priced to grab the attention of potential buyers in India. However, the base model turns out to be too spartan for Urban buyers.
