Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 57 One of One Revealed As Bespoke Tribute To Legendary Type 57 SC Atlantic
French hypercar specialist Bugatti has unveiled a spectacular tribute to the iconic Type 57 SC Atlantic with the creation of the one-off Bugatti Chiron Super Sport '57 One of One'.
The special iteration of the Chiron Super Sport hypercar is designed to celebrate the unique shape of the Type 57, which was originally designed by Jean Bugatti, son of the company's founder, Ettore Bugatti. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport '57 One of One' will be one of the final Chirons to roll off the firm's atelier floor in Molsheim.
The Chiron Super Sport '57 One of One' has been crafted for a specific Bugatti client in America. The client, who has never owned a Bugatti before, was captivated by the original Type 57 SC Atlantic which inspired the creation of this unique one-off homage.
Hendrik Malinowski, Managing Director at Bugatti, expressed his admiration for the project, stating, "The Type 57 SC Atlantic will always be an icon, and this latest homage can proudly sit alongside it on the concours lawns of the future."
The exterior of the '57 One of One' features several modifications over a standard Chiron. These include five-spoke Super Sport wheels finished in polished chrome with blue accents, reflecting the grey metallic blue of the original car. The rear wing underside boasts a hand-drawn silhouette of the Type 57, accompanied by '57' and 'One of One' lettering.
Further nods to the Type 57 include a redesigned grille with polished strakes and a thicker central spine. Despite these changes, Bugatti assures that the revised grille doesn't compromise the cooling needed for the quad-turbocharged, W16 engine that can propel the hypercar to a mind-bending top speed of 440km/h.
Inside, the vehicle features 'Guacho' leather upholstery and additional Type 57 silhouettes. The door panels are stitched in 'lightning blue', and a custom insert on the centre console displays '57 One of One'. A dancing elephant motif, a design element reserved for Bugatti's most exclusive models, adorns the headrests of the one-off hypercar.
While Bugatti has not revealed how much it charged for this creation, it's safe to assume it significantly exceeds the standard Chiron's already monumental multi-million dollar price tag.
