453bhp BMW M2 Arrives In India With Rs 98 Lakh Pricetag
German luxury carmaker BMW has launched the M2 performance coupe in India. The BMW M2 is priced at Rs 98 lakh (ex-showroom).
The launch of the smallest M Division car in India comes eight months after the performance coupe was revealed to the world in October 2022.

The all-new BMW M2 is powered by a revised version of the S58 twin-turbo straight-six engine that powers the M3 and M4. Under the bonnet of the new M2, the engine pushes out 453bhp at 6,250rpm and 550Nm of peak torque between 2,650 and 5,870rpm.
The BMW M2 for India is offered with the firm's 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The 6-speed manual gearbox is available as an option. Both gearboxes send the M2's power to its rear wheels.

With launch control engaged, the automatic BMW M2 sprints from 0-100km/h in just 4.1 seconds which drops to 4.3 seconds in cars fitted with the manual box. The BMW M2 has an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h. This can be raised to 285km/h by opting for the M Driver's Package.
The M2 also gets an active differential and adaptive suspension from BMW's M division along with multiple driving modes - Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and an Individual mode. The final mode allows the person behind the wheel to personalise the driving experience to the fullest.

The BMW M2's design takes the 2 Series and dials the design madness to 11. At the front, wraparound LED headlights lights flank the frameless kidney grilles, underneath which sits a large air intake. This along with the smaller intakes on the sides help keep the turbocharged engine cool.
The sides sport flared-out wheelarches that play host to lightweight alloy wheels -19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear - shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

The rear end of the BMW M2 is quite busy. The bootlid features a spoiler element and there are twin tailpipes sticking out of either side of the bumper. The rear diffuser is quite a deep unit and helps keep the M2 glued to the tarmac.
The interiors of the BMW M2 are dominated by the curved panel of glass that runs across the dash and plays host to the instrumentation and infotainment setups. The Driver's Display is a 12.3-inch unit while the touchscreen infotainment unit is larger at 14.9 inches.
