Futuristic Driving Experience: BMW’s Innovative iDrive
The BMW Group launched an innovative display and operating system as part of their BMW iDrive. These elements pave the way for a unique BMW user experience with a refreshed narrative in the digital age.
The BMW iDrive system continues to evolve by integrating advanced technology. A characteristic of BMW’s modern interior design is its focus on a touch-sensitive platform and sophisticated voice interaction. Four key elements define the BMW iDrive system within the Neue Klasse series.
The BMW Panoramic Vision brings a unique perspective to the typical BMW driver focus and provides valuable information for all passengers. Using cutting-edge display technology, this system projects information at an optimal height for the driver across the full width of the windshield.
In addition to the Panoramic Vision, the BMW 3D head-up display provides necessary information during active driving situations with outstanding precision. The data, such as traffic guidance or assisted driving instructions, appears as 3D animations in direct view of the driver.
Further enhancing the driving experience, the multifunction steering wheel offers access to content from the BMW Panoramic Vision and the BMW 3D head-up display. Following the guiding principle of eyes on the road, hands on the wheel, the steering wheel controls offer a safe, efficient, and precise operation mode. The buttons alongside the steering wheel bolstered by the active haptic feedback and multilayer technology make this possible.
Finally, the BMW iDrive in the new Neue Klasse series will spotlight a new central display, sporting recognizable BMW styling complete with an intuitive touch function. High-resolution display capabilities, vibrant colors, and stark contrasts are guaranteed, owing to the matrix backlight technology in this new central display. Also featured in its future is the QuickSelect concept, first unveiled in 2023.
