BMW India Records Highest Ever Sales In 2022 – More Than 19,000 Units Sold
BMW India has witnessed its highest-ever sales in 2022 as the German automaker managed to sell more than 19,000 units of products in the country.
Diving into details, BMW India witnessed a strong demand for its products in India during CY2022 with an YoY growth of almost 37 per cent for its luxury cars excluding the Mini brand. In fact, the exact sales figures for BMW cars in India during CY2022 stands at 11,268 units.
On the other hand, Mini's sales figures in the country during CY2022 stood at 713 units with an YoY sales increase of 11.4 per cent. This means the overall car sales figure for the BMW marque stands at 11,981 units with 35 per cent YoY sales during CY 2022.
However, the sales figures further shoot up if we consider BMW motorcycles as well. In fact, BMW Motorrad managed to sell 7,282 units of its motorcycles in India during CY2022 with an YoY sales improvement of more than 40.2 per cent. As a result, the exact sales figures for the German automaker in India stands at 19,263 units with an overall YoY sales increase of 37 per cent.

It is also worth mentioning that BMW is currently the second largest luxury car maker in India with more than 11k units of its luxury cars sold in CY2022. That being said, the No.1 spot is currently held by Mercedes-Benz with more than 16k cars sold during the same time frame.
Looking into the past, back in 2018, BMW India crossed the 10k mark for the first time by managing to sell 10,405 units of its luxury cars in India with an YoY sales growth of 11 per cent. Apart from that, in the last 10 years, BMW India has managed to sell 82,166 units of its cars in India.
