German luxury carmaker BMW has revealed the i Vision Dee electric concept car at CES 2023 in Las Vegas. The BMW i Vision Dee previews what we could see fitted to the German marque's future cars based on the Neu Klasse platform.
The concept car revealed at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada also gives us a look at the paired-down design language that BMW plans to show in its upcoming production models.
BMW has stated that the i Vision Dee is a futuristic mid-size sedan which leads us to think that this concept could very well preview what we should expect from the next generation of the i3 all-electric sedan.
BMW states that the concept vehicle's name Dee stands for Digital Emotional Experience and that its aim with this concept car is to create a between people and their cars going forward.
The i Vision Dee concept shows off quite a few futuristic tech features including what the Bavarian firm is calling the BMW Mixed Reality Slider. This Mixed Reality Slider from BMW controls the i Vision Dee and uses touch sensors fitted to the fabric-covered dashboard.
The Mixed Reality Slider allows the driver to control just how much digital content is shown on the heads-up display.
Other crazy features on the BMW i Vision Dee include its exterior panels that sport the Bavarian firm's latest work in the world of e-ink. Unlike the colour-changing iX concept shown last year which could change from black to white and back, the i Vision Dee can now curate its exterior in up to 32 colours and features a total of 240 different sections which can be controlled individually.
Speaking about the BMW i Vision Dee Concept, Frank Weber, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Development said, "A BMW lives by its unparalleled digital performance. BMW i Vision Dee is about perfect integration of virtual and physical experiences. Whoever excels at integrating the customer's everyday digital worlds into the vehicle at all levels will succeed in mastering the future of car-building."
