Bigger Than Land Cruiser 300 – BAIC BJ60 Exclusive Launch To Happen In Dubai On This Date
BAIC Motor is set to unveil the BAIC BJ60 SUV exclusively in Dubai. The automaker has confirmed that the exclusive launch event for the BAIC BJ60 SUV is scheduled to occur on December 15 at Kempinski Hotel & Residences Palm Jumeirah.
At the launch, we expect many guests to be surprised by the size of the BIAC BJ60 SUV as it is the largest off-road vehicle ever developed by the company. In fact, it is longer than the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 SUV.
Dimension-wise, the BAIC BJ60 SUV measures 5,020mm long, 1,955mm wide, 1,925mm tall, and sports a wheelbase of 2,800mm. These generous proportions make the upcoming BAIC BJ60 a very imposing SUV.
To haul such mass, the BAIC BJ60 SUV comes with two engine options - A petrol, and a diesel engine. The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine comes with 48-volt mild-hybrid tech. This engine is expected to deliver a range of around 1,000 kilometres.
On the other hand, the diesel engine is a 2.0-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder unit, which we expect is likely to be similar to the one in the BAIC BJ40. If so, this powertrain will produce 147bhp at the crank. Furthermore, both powertrains are expected to sport an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, the BAIC BJ60 also sports a body-on-frame chassis. Moreover, the model comes with independent suspension at all corners and sports three locking differentials along with its All-Terrain four-wheel-drive system.
Production of the BAIC BJ60 commenced in 2022, and it is currently already on sale in China. When launched in Dubai, we expect BAIC BJ60 to have a warm welcome from its potential customers, mainly due to its imposing size and tech-laden interior.
On the inside, the BJ60 comes with all kinds of tech you could imagine from an SUV of this segment. Additionally, some variants of the BJ60 even come with 3 screens at the front.
