The Toyota Corolla Flex Fuel's fuel lines and engine and every other component the blended fuel, touches have to be treated to keep rust at bay as ethanol can be very corrosive. The usage of ethanol in the blend means that the engine needs to be tuned differently to meet emission norms and the lower energy density of ethanol.

Thoughts About The Toyota Corolla Altis Flex Fuel Showcased At Auto Expo 2023

The Toyota Corolla Altis Flex Fuel showcased at Auto Expo shows off the future of cars in India before everything goes electric. While vehicles running on an ethanol blend will help with emissions, the biggest help, at least for the government, will be the lower oil import bill which will hopefully translate into savings for those running these cars that love a bit of alcohol in their blend.
