The Avinya is the first of Tata's Generation 3 EVs that was shown to the world. While the media has seen the Avinya EV in the flesh before, Auto Expo 2023 marks the first time that the general public will be able to clap their eyes on Tata's Gen 3 SUV.
2023 Auto Expo: Tata Avinya Concept Design & Features
The Tata Avinya takes its name from the Sanskrit word for Innovation and its design more than lives up to its name. The Avinya features a minimalist design which not only looks attractive but has some features that really make quite a few jaws drop.
This can be seen at the front of the Avinya which features T-shaped LED DRL lightbars running across its front. Tucked into each side of the Avinya's front end are the LED headlamps. Underneath the T-Shaped DRL sits a large black panel which when switched off looks like a gaping mouth. However, when the array of LED lights fitted to this panel switches on, they give the Avinya a very distinct lighting signature.
The Avinya rides large alloy wheels that are found on the edges of the concept vehicle. The Avinya lacks a B Pillar which allows it to have some brilliant-looking coach-style doors.
At the rear, the Avinya concept sports a small spoiler element and the rear windscreen is a curved unit that slopes gently into the T-shaped lightbar taillights that also act as another spoiler element. The flared wheelarches at the rear flow gently into the rear bumper of the Avinya which give it a very sculpted look.
Step inside the Avinya and you'll be greeted by a very minimalist interior with two lounge seats at the front and a large bench at the rear. All the seats on the Avinya feature soundbar-style speakers and there is a small display present on the steering wheel along with secondary units for the passengers. All the upholstery for the Avinya is made using materials that are sustainably sourced.
Thoughts About The Tata Avinya Showcased At Auto Expo
The Tata Avinya Concept shows us Tata's all-electric future and Auto Expo will see the general public clap eyes on it for the very first time. Expect a production version of the Avinya to arrive sometime after 2025.
