Tata Motors has revealed the Altroz Racer hot hatchback at Auto Expo 2023. The Tata Altroz racer gets a more powerful version of the 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that is found in the iTurbo version of the hatchback.
The Tata Altroz Racer also gets quite a few upgrades over the regular Altroz both in terms of looks and standard kit including racing stripes, a blacked-out bonnet, a larger infotainment screen, all-black interiors and a digital driver's display.

2023 Auto Expo: Tata Altroz Racer Specs
The Tata Altroz Racer draws power from the turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol engine found in the iTurbo variant of the hatchback that is also found under the bonnet of the Nexon.
The engine has been tuned to produce a bit more power. Under the bonnet of the Altroz Racer this 1.2-litre, turbocharged three-pot pushes out 118.3bhp at 5,500rpm and 170Nm of peak torque from 1,750 to 4,000rpm.
The Altroz Racer produces 10bhp and 30Nm more than the iTurbo and to help it put the extra power down Tata has fitted the hot hatchback with a 6-speed manual transmission. Interestingly, the Altroz Race produces the same amount of power as the car that could be its rival if Tata unleashes it onto our roads - the Hyundai i20 N Line.

2023 Auto Expo: Tata Altroz Racer Design & Features
The Tata Altroz Racer has been quite the visual upgrade that ensures that all eyeballs will remain on it. The Altroz Racer sports a dual-tone paint job with the blacked-out roof and bonnet contrasting well with the racy red paint that can be found on the rest of the car.
The Altroz Race also gets two white racing stripes on its bonnet along with Racer badges on the front fenders, a shark fin antenna and a more pronounced spoiler on the roof. Other changes include a blacked-out grille, smoked headlamps and black alloy wheels.
Step inside the Altroz Racer and the changes are even more in your face. The Altroz Racer's cabin is finished in Granite Black with red accents. The seats get black leatherette upholstery with contrast red stitching and Racer embossed into the headrests.
The Altroz Racer also gets a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, a 7-inch driver's display along with ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, an air purifier and an electronically operated sunroof as standard kit.

Thoughts About The Tata Altroz Racer Shown At Auto Expo 2023
The Tata Altroz looks ready to challenge the Hyundai i20 N Line if the Mumbai-based carmaker decides to let it hit the streets. Tata hasn't revealed anything about a launch timeline but we expect the Altroz Racer to be priced similarly to the i20 n Line which starts at around Rs 9.99 lakh.
