2023 Auto Expo: Maruti Suzuki Fronx Specs
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx marks the return of the turbocharged 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol engine that was discontinued due to the implementation of BS6 emissions norms.
The 1.0-litre turbocharged engine produces 98.6bhp and 147.6Nm of peak torque under the bonnet of the all-new Maruti Fronx. The other engine on offer is the 1.2-litre K12C engine with mild hybrid tech that produces 88.5bhp and 113Nm of peak torque. Both engines are offered a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0-litre Boosterjet is offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission while the 1.2-litre unit gets a 5-speed AMT.
2023 Auto Expo: Maruti Fronx Design & Features
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx may share its name with the firm's premium hatchback but its design is quite different. In fact, the Fronx reminds you more of the Futuro-e concept from the previous edition of Auto Expo mixed in with design cues from Maruti's latest crop of SUVs.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx sports an upright front end with a split headlamp design with the DRLs up top and the headlamp unit sitting lower on the bumper. The DRLs are connected to the Suzuki badge at the centre by a strip of chrome.
The side profile of the Fronx shows off the coupe-SUV design of the new with its sloping roof. The new Fronx also features blacked-out pillars and rides on a set of snazzy alloy wheels housed within squared-off wheelarches with plastic cladding. At the rear, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx sports full-length lightbar taillights with three claw-like elements on each end.
Step inside the all-new Fronx and you'll be greeted by premium dual-tone interiors. However, the rest of the cabin seems to be taken directly from its hatch sibling, the Baleno. The Fronx sports a 9-inch infotainment display that also acts as a display for the 360-degree camera. Also present are Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and 40+ connected car features through the in-built Suzuki Connect suite.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is offered in five basic colour options - Grandeur Grey, Arctic White, Earthen brown, Opulent Red and Splendid Silver. The final three colours are also offered in a dual-tone guise with a Bluish Black roof.
