Auto Expo 2023: Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG Showcased Ahead Of Its Launch In India
Maruti Suzuki has showcased the Brezza CNG SUV at the Auto Expo 2023 ahead of its launch in India. What's more interesting is that the showcased SUV was finished in matte blue colour.
That being said, we expect the Indo-Japanese automaker to soon launch the Brezza S-CNG in the Indian market to increase its market share in the sub-4m SUV segment and further improve its overall sales figures.
Coming to the powertrain, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG is expected to use the same 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine as the CNG version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Maruti Suzuki XL6. This engine is tuned to produce around 90bhp of peak power and 122Nm of peak torque using CNG as fuel.
In terms of gearbox options, we expect the Brezza CNG to come with a 5-speed automatic transmission as standard. However, there is also a possibility of Maruti Suzuki offering the 6-speed automatic transmission in the Brezza S-CNG, which will make the SUV the first automatic car in India to sport a factory-fitted CNG kit.
In terms of features, we expect the upcoming Brezza CNG to sport an identical feature list as its petrol-powered counterpart with features such as an updated MID display, a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, head-up display (HUD), Alexa compatibility, electric sunroof, Cruise Control, connected car tech, rear AC vents, Arkamys sound system, and much more.
Additionally, Maruti Suzuki will also offer the upcoming Brezza CNG with the same safety suite as the conventional Brezza with the inclusion of safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), 360-degree surround-view camera, hill-hold assist, reverse parking sensors and much more.
In terms of pricing, we expect the upcoming CNG version of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV to command a premium of 95,000 over the standard variant of the SUV. Though the price gap may seem steep, the cheaper running cost can quickly overcome the breakeven point.

At present, Maruti Suzuki has the largest model lineup of factory-fitted CNG cars in the country. Moreover, with the launch of the Brezza iCNG SUV, the Indo-Japanese automaker is highly likely to boost its sales further by a significant margin, especially in tier 1 and tier 2 cities.
