Auto Expo 2023: Hyundai Ioniq 6 Showcased – 614Km Range & More
Hyundai has showcased the Ioniq 6 at the Auto Expo 2023. Moreover, this electric sedan uses the same GMP skateboard architecture as the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
Diving into details, Hyundai had globally unveiled the Ioniq 6 electric sedan back in June 2022 and the South Korean automaker describes the Ioniq 6 as an 'electrified streamliner', which ideally suits the model as the Ioniq 6 electric sedan comes with a drag coefficient of just 0.21.
One of the reasons for the ultra-low drag coefficient on the Ioniq 6 is due to its design which is based on the Prophecy Concept that uses multiple long curves and creases. On top of that, the Ioniq 6 electric sedan comes equipped with flush door handles and cameras instead of traditional ORVMs to improve the airflow.
Overall, the exterior design of the Ioniq 6 electric sedan is pretty likeable with a few curves including the curved shoulder line that accentuate the sportiness of the electric sedan. Other than that, the Ioniq 6 also comes with a neatly integrated spoiler below the rear window and a ducktail spoiler below it.
On the inside, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan sports a minimalist theme starting with its button-less door panels, two-spoke steering wheel, and single dash frame. However, the overall ambience of the interior is uplifted by the use of two large 12-inch screens - One for the instrument cluster and the other as an infotainment display. On top of that, there are two more screens that are placed to provide a real-time feed from the previously mentioned side cameras.
Coming to the powertrain specifications, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 comes with two battery pack options - 53kWh and 77kWh. On top of that, there is a 228bhp, single-motor, RWD variant along with a more powerful 320bhp, dual-motor, AWD variant. It is also worth mentioning that the 'long range' version of the Ioniq 6 is claimed to cover up to 614 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is a very attractive-looking sedan with its minimalist and 'slippery' styling. Moreover, engineers at Hyundai have done a commendable job at making the Ioniq 6electric sedan as slippery as possible without making it look weird in any sort. That being, Hyundai has not made any comments regarding the launch of the Ioniq 6 in India.
