2023 Auto Expo - BYD Seal Specs & Dimensions

The BYD Seal is an electric sedan that is offered with a choice of two battery packs and is offered in both single and dual motor guises. The Seal features BYD's Cell To Body tech that allows the battery to be integrated into the body, which BYD claims help improve the safety, handling and performance of the sedan.

The BYD Seal's base battery pack is a 61.6kWh unit which offers 550km of range and can charge at a maximum of 110kW. The larger battery pack version of the Seal EV is an 82.5kWh unit which supports 150kW fast charging and delivers a range of 700km (all range figures are as per CLTC testing).

The RWD long-range Seal features a 308bhp while the all-wheel drive variant gets a 523bhp dual motor setup that allows it to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds.

The BYD Seal is 4,800mm long, 1,875mm wide, 1,460mm tall, and has a 2,920mm long wheelbase. The BYD Seal weighs in at 2,150kg in its heaviest guise.

Auto Expo 2023: BYD Seal Design & Features

The BYD Seal sedan's design is based on the Ocean X concept from the Chinese firm. The futuristic-looking Seal sports angular headlamps and LED DRLs that sit lower on the front bumper.

The sides of the Seal feature quite distinct creases, and lines, and flush door handles and the coupe-like roofline enhances the sporty looks of the sedan. At the rear, the BYD Seal sports a large stylized lightbar-type set of LED taillights and what appears to be a rather potent diffuser.

The interiors of the BYD Seal look very premium with a mix of multiple materials. The interiors of the Seal sedan are also a proper tech fest with dual displays on the dashboard. The smaller of these is the driver's display which measures 10.25 inches across the diagonal while the larger 15.6-inch infotainment can swivel between landscape and portrait modes.

Other features loaded onto the Seal include a head-up display, wireless phone charging and a heated windscreen among many others.

Thoughts About The BYD Seal

The BYD Seal will be the Chinese firm's third and most potent offering in India and promises to be quite the riot if it arrives in its dual motor guise. We expect the BYD Seal to launch by the festive period carrying a price tag of around Rs 60-70 lakh.
