Aston Martin Valour: A Limited Edition V12 Manual For The Ages
Aston Martin recently unveiled the Limited Edition Valour as a special for the company's 110th Anniversary. The Valour has taken design cues from the 70s and 80s Vantage model, and incorporated a modern twist. The Valour will be limited to only 110 models.
The Aston Martin Valour will come powered by a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that produces 705bhp and 753Nm of torque through a 6-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels. Aston Martin also claims that the Valour is the only front-engine V12 with a manual gearbox.

With inspiration taken from the Victor which was also based on the Vantage, the Aston Martin Valor has a design that gives the driver a chance to have an immersive driving experience in the digital era, as said by Marek Reichman, the Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin.
The Aston Martin Valour also gets three drive modes: Sport, Sport+, and Track with each mode tuned to provide a different feel of the car, altering the throttle response, torque output, and the exhaust note.
To stop the Valour, 410mm 6-piston calipers with carbon-ceramic pads come as standard in the front and 380mm 4-piston calipers are seen on the rear. These brakes slash off 23kgs from the regular steel brakes.
The brakes are fixed on 21-inch lightweight alloy wheels with a Honeycomb styled design and to further improve traction, the Aston Martin Valour comes with a mechanically controlled limited-slip differential.

The Carbon Fibre body work of the Aston Martin Valour resembles the V8 Vantage of the 70s and 80s, and ideas have been implemented from the design of the RHAM/1 'Muncher' Le Mans race car and the twin-turbo Vantage V600 from the 90s. These ideas can be seen in the Valour's stance and aero features.
Lawrence Stroll, the Executive Chairman of Aston Martin said, "A showcase for our world-class design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities, Valour is further proof of Aston Martin's position as the driver's champion and maker of the world's most exciting, exclusive and desirable ultra-luxury high-performance cars."
The main design idea of the Valour was to get airflow out of the car and it can be seen with the vented bonnet and the front vent located on top of the headlight. This design helps cool the massive engine and brakes, and reduce the drag of the Valour.
In the front, we see a classy designed front splitter that sits a little away from the Aston-special grille. Also, the LED headlamps on the Aston Martin Valour have been taken from the Valkyrie hypercar.

At the rear, we see a ducktail spoiler, a neat polished aluminium rear with a billet separating the top from the bottom, a triple-exit stainless steel exhaust, and a cluster of LED lights for brakes. The exhaust seen on the Aston Martin Valour comes 7kgs lighter than a regular exhaust.
Adaptive suspension dampers, adaptive suspension springs, and an anti-roll bar are some of the features seen on the Valour's chassis. The chassis has also been specifically tuned to give the driver a sporty drive, but since the Valour is a road car, it also has comfort, control, and limited body roll.

Inside the Aston Martin Valour, we see sporty seats bearing a carbon-fibre shell, with a woollen tweed design on the backrest. For the gear knob, customization options are available, such as a machine aluminium finish, titanium finish, carbon-fibre finish, or a walnut finish.
Further personalization options are also available through Aston Martin's Q division for the Valour. The car can be separated into four parts for customization: front, bonnet, sides, and rear, with different paint options to choose from.

Production of the Aston Martin Valour will commence at the company's Gaydon Headquarters in the third quarter of this year while deliveries will only start towards the end of the year.
Thoughts On The Aston Martin Valour
The Aston Martin Valour is a modern car with a retro feel. Coming with a manual V12 and driver focused powertrain, the Valour will be a treat to let loose on open roads and on track. However, we will not be able to get our hands on it as all 110 units of the car have been booked.
