Ashok Leyland Marks New Milestone With Huge Tamil Nadu State Transport Undertakings Bus Order!
The Indian commercial vehicle manufacturing company, Ashok Leyland, part of the esteemed Hinduja Group, disclosed that an order of 1,666 buses has been placed by the Tamil Nadu State Transport Undertakings (TN STU's). This order is said to be the largest BSVI order from State Transport Undertakings, further solidifying Ashok Leyland's leadership in the industry.
Ashok Leyland has a long-standing reputation as a top-choice brand for TN STU's with over 18,000 of its buses currently in use, making up more than 90% of the total fleet. The incoming buses will be custom-built for superior passenger comfort, incorporating the cutting-edge iGen6 BS VI technology, housed in a formidable 147 kW (197bhp) H-series engine. A decrease in the total cost of ownership (TCO) is anticipated along with enhanced safety and comfort.
