Ashok Leyland Turns 75: New Electric Commercial Vehicles Launched
Ashok Leyland is currently celebrating its 75 years of service, echoing its unwavering loyalty towards the enhancements and prosperity of the country. Since its establishment in 1948, Ashok Leyland has been a significant pillar in revolutionising the commercial mobility sector, commanding respect for its innovative, brilliant and sustainable strategies.
In the light of this celebration, Shri Nitin Gadkari, India's Minister of Road Transport and Highways, joyously released the revolutionary Electric Light Commercial Vehicles from Switch Mobility, known as the IeV Series.
The SWITCH IeV, with its incredibly low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), is a powerful tool for MSMEs, e-commerce, and cottage industries in India, underscoring our commitment to a sustainability-driven future and setting new industry standards in efficiency and innovation.
In addition to that, Ashok Leyland also presented the innovative 9-metre Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Electric Bus established for NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation), marking it as India's first commercial fuel cell bus.
Furthermore, the partnership between Ashok Leyland and Reliance Industries to launch India's first Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine Truck was displayed, reflecting the company's collaborative strategies to bring forth futuristic sustainable solutions for extended transportation.
The celebration of the 75-year journey, in the words of Dheeraj Hinduja - the Chairman of Ashok Leyland and Switch Mobility, is a testament to transformation and innovation. This milestone sets forth hopes for a promising future where Ashok Leyland aims to pioneer sustainable transportation solutions.
Shenu Agarwal, the MD & CEO of Ashok Leyland, aligns with this vision and emphasises his pride in launching the groundbreaking technologies - the IeV series from Switch Mobility, the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Bus for NTPC, and the Hydrogen Engine Truck for Reliance.

Celebrating the immense 75-year voyage, Ashok Leyland also launched 'Dream Drive'-a journey traversing the country's diverse terrain in 10 Ashok Leyland vehicles, eventually converging at the company's remarkable manufacturing plants.
This initiative also enabled the commercial vehicle manufacturer to connect with its network of customers, dealers, suppliers, and other partners such as drivers, mechanics, and financiers, expressing gratitude for their contribution.
Honouring its association with India's defence forces, the symbolic 'Manzil ka Safar' drive with Stallion defence vehicles covered 4000+ kilometres from Kanyakumari to Leh. With a foundation built on innovation and an eye on sustainability, Ashok Leyland is set to thrive for generations to come.
