All-New Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV To Be Launched Today – Here Are Our Expectations
Introduced in India back in 2016, the Mercedes-Benz GLC is one of the most successful models from the German luxury car manufacturer. Now, Mercedes-Benz is all geared up to launch the new generation of the GLC SUV in the country.
With the launch of the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV, we expect the German automaker to further expand its sales figures by attracting more customers. Also, the launch of the model has also been perfectly timed to capitalise on the sales push during the festive season.
As of now, Mercedes-Benz has already commenced the bookings for the next-generation GLC SUV in India and the token amount for booking the new Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV has been capped at Rs 1,50,000.
Speaking about the new Mercedes-Benz GLC, this upcoming German SUV will be made available in two variants - GLC 300 4MATIC, and GLC 220d 4MATIC. It is also worth mentioning that both variants will come equipped with a mild-hybrid system and all-wheel drive setup.
In terms of powertrain, the new GLC 300 4MATIC SUV comes with a 2.0-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is tuned to produce a healthy 254bhp and 400Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the GLC 220d 4MATIC variant is equipped with a 2.0-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder diesel engine with 194bhp and 440Nm of torque. It is also worth mentioning that the ISG unit in both powertrains can feed in additional 23bhp and 200Nm of torque.
Also, both variants of the new GLC SUV come equipped with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, the advanced all-wheel-drive system is expected to significantly improve off-roadability and provide optimum traction under all weather conditions.
Noticeable features in the next-generation Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV include a large 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, a 15-speaker Burmester audio system, a panoramic sunroof, and many more.
In terms of size, the upcoming new Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV measures 4,716mm long, 2,075mm wide, and 1,650mm tall. This means the new Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV is 60mm longer, 21mm narrower, and 4mm lower than the outgoing model.
We also expect the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV to sport better space in the 2nd row, thanks to its 15mm longer wheelbase compared to its predecessor (the wheelbase of the new GLC SUV stands at 2,888mm).
