New Volkswagen Tiguan 2024: Upgraded for the Future
The latest iteration of the best-selling Volkswagen model, the Tiguan, is being announced by the company in a global premiere. This third-generation Volkswagen Tiguan, which has found more than 7.6 million buyers worldwide since 2007, is set to hit the dealer floors in the first quarter of 2024.
The new Tiguan has been significantly enhanced due to the technological advancements achieved with MQB evo. Newly included hybrid engines boasting an approximate all-electric range of 100km make this vehicle more fuel-efficient than before. AC charging speed has been increased in all eHybrid configurations and fast DC charging is standard across all models for the first time.

Premium features like a pneumatic massage function for the front seats and the IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights have been introduced in the Tiguan for the first time, borrowed from the premium Touareg model. The redesigned Digital Cockpit, which is based on the MIB4, the latest modular infotainment matrix, equips the Tiguan with cutting-edge digital services and applications.
The style and design of the Tiguan have also been overhauled. The front end features sleek LED headlights and a prominent glass-covered flat stripe, resulting in an imposing demeanor. The improved drag coefficient, which has reduced from 0.33 to 0.28, highlights the clear lines design of the Tiguan. A new horizontal LED strip further accentuates the distinctive rear end of the model.
A range of engine types are available for the Tiguan courtesy the MQB evo base. These include turbo diesel engines (TDI), turbo gasoline engines (TSI), and mild hybrid turbo gasoline engines (eTSI), and plug-in hybrid systems (eHybrid), all paired with an automatic gearbox (DSG). The gear shifting is now done via a steering column switch, similar to the Volkswagen ID models and the latest Passat.
Volkswagen has also updated the adaptive chassis control DCC with the MQB evo. The optional DCC Pro comes with two-valve shock absorbers and a Vehicle Dynamics Manager as standard. This system enhances vehicle handling by controlling the functionalities of the electronic differential locks (XDS) and lateral dynamics components of the DCC Pro system.

The Tiguan is available with the brand-new ergoActive Plus seats, offering pneumatic four-way lumbar adjustment and a pneumatic 10-chamber pressure massage function. There's also a feature that automatically activates seat heating or ventilation based on external temperatures.
Numerous convenience and assistance systems come standard with the new Tiguan model. Lane-change, Autonomous Emergency Braking, lane-keeping and rear view camera systems are all included, as is Dynamic Road Sign Display. There's also a variety of optional technologies such as Park Assist Pro, which allows remote parking using a smartphone app.

The new Tiguan model is slightly longer than its predecessor, length has been increased by approximately three centimetres, while the height, width and wheelbases remain comparable to the previous model. But the clever use of space is at its best in the luggage compartment: a 37-litre capacity increase results in a total of 652 litres of space.
