2023 Tata Nexon EV Unveiled – New Powertrain, Updated Design, Upgrades & More

Tata Motors has unveiled the much-awaited 2023 Tata Nexon EV in India. This facelifted electric SUV will be launched on September 14. However, the bookings for the model will commence a little sooner.

In fact, Tata Motors has scheduled to open the bookings for the 2023 Tata Nexon EV from September 9, 8am onwards. Furthermore, the booking amount for the new 2023 Tata Nexon EV has been capped at Rs 21,000.

Coming to the design, the new 2023 Tata Nexon EV sports a similar design as the new Tata Nexon facelift. However, there are a few EV-specific design touches such as the redesigned lower section of the front bumper.

On the inside, the new 2023 Tata Nexon EV also remains quite identical to its ICE counterpart with its layered dashboard design, updated 10.25-inch infotainment unit, new steering wheel with illuminated logo, and more.

That being said, in the new 2023 Tata Nexon EV, the gear lever has been replaced by a rotary gear selector knob. Apart from that, the rest of the cabin continues to be a reflection of the Tata Nexon facelift SUV.

Some of the standout features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging pad, touch controls for AC, paddle shifters for regen, 45W type-C charging port, electric sunroof, drive modes, 360-degree camera, 320W 9-Speaker JBL sound system, and more.

Coming to the powertrain, the 2023 Tata Nexon EV gets a Gen2 electric motor that is capable of running up to 16,000rpm, which is 4,000rpm more than the previous electric motor. This new electric motor produces 142.6bhp and 215Nm of peak torque.

Thanks to this upgraded powertrain, the 2023 Tata Nexon EV can sprint to 100km/h in just 8.9 seconds. Moreover, this uprated electric SUV from Tata Motors is now capable of reaching speeds up to 150km/h (up by 30km/h)

That being said, Tata Motors has also introduced new nomenclature consisting of 'Mid Range' and 'Long Range'. The Long Range variant according to Tata Motors is capable of covering 465 kilometres on a single charge with its 40.5kWh battery pack.

On the other hand, the Mid Range variant continues to feature a 127bhp electric motor with the same 215Nm of peak torque. Moreover, the updated model can cover 325 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack.
